Your Kenya safari tour starts in Nairobi, travels through Kenya and Uganda, and finishes back in Nairobi. In order to view Gorilla, you may do so in one of the bordering countries like Rwanda or the Democratic Republic of Congo.

What to expect from this 14 Day Gorilla Safari tour:
Starting in Nairobi, you will be afforded the opportunity to see the famous Black and White Rhino. You then continue travelling through Kenya and Uganda, where you'll get spectacular views of the Gorilla.
You may do so in one of the countries bordering Uganda like the DRC or Rwanda. Enjoy game drives through the Mara in search of the famous Big Five and an optional excursion - a boat ride to the Crescent Island Game Sanctuary.
Please note: This trip departs Nairobi on a Sunday, early morning. Should you wish to spend extra time there an earlier arrival should be planned and additional accommodation booked through Siyabona Africa Travel.

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara Game Reserve, KenyaYou depart from the Boulevard Hotel in Nairobi and climb the escarpment to your first viewing point overlooking the Great African Rift Valley. You enter Maasai land, where these traditional pastorialists can be seen on the side of the road, tending to their cattle.
You arrive at your accommodation for the night, Acacia Camp, just in time to enjoy a breathtaking African sunset over the Masai Mara. Lunch and dinner is included. |
Day 2: Masai Mara, KenyaToday you will enjoy exciting game drives, in search for the infamous Big Five of Africa, as well as Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra and Waterbuck to name a few. The evenings will be spent sitting around the roaring camp fire, watching the sun set over the savannah plains. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. |
Day 3: Masai Mara to Nakuru, KenyaYou depart the Masai Mara early on the third day of your Kenya safari tour, passing the third largest town in Kenya, Nakuru. Here you will stop for the night to re-supply and shop. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. |
Day 4: Nakuru to Kampala, UgandaToday, you cross the border to Uganda and travel via Jinja (the source of the Nile), before reaching the capital of Uganda, Kampala for an overnight stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.
Uganda is a country small in size, but big in beauty. Landscapes vary from fertile green areas around Lake Victoria, to the snow covered Ruwenzori Mountains in the west, and the semi desert plains of the north, facing Sudan. |
Days 5 & 6: Kampala to Kisoro, UgandaAfter an early morning start, you arrive in at your base in Kisoro where breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.
From your base at Kisoro, you will view Gorilla, depending on where the Gorilla permits are available, and where the Gorillas are located. Your Gorilla viewing will take place in either Magahinga or Bwindi National Parks in Uganda, the Virunga National Park in the DRC, or at Ruhengeri in Rwanda. Please remember that because of the nature and habits of the Gorilla, viewing cannot be guaranteed.
Your Gorilla trekking might take quite a while (up to 5 hours) through dense forest vegetation. Gorillas are highly sensitive to human disease, therefore park authorities will not allow people of poor health to visit the Gorilla groups, and children under the age of 15 years of age are also not allowed to visit. |
Day 7: Kisoro to Lake Bunyoni, UgandaAfter a short drive through some of the most beautiful and diverse scenery in Africa, you arrive at Lake Bunyoni, the deepest crater lake in Africa. This crater lake is home to an abundance of bird and fish species, as well as otters. Your stay will include breakfast, lunch and dinner. |
Day 8: Lake Bunyoni, UgandaYou spend the whole day at leisure, exploring and enjoying the beauty of the area. You can swim, visit a local village, or enjoy an afternoon siesta in the tranquil surroundings. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. |
Day 9: Lake Bunyoni to Kampala, UgandaAfter enjoying the peaceful and tranquil surroundings of Lake Bunyoni on your tour in Uganda, you travel to Kampala for another overnight stay, and perhaps a chance to enjoy the nightlife. You cross the Equator for the second time, with lots of opportunities to take photos. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. |
Day 10: Kampala to Jinja, UgandaToday you will have the option of either white water rafting on the majestic Nile River, or visiting the Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary. For the adventure lovers, you will be picked up from Kampala and transferred to Jinja to experience some of the best white water rafting in Africa.
For guests looking for a more tranquil experience, you enjoy a leisurely morning, or take the option of a full day excursion to visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary before you leave for Jinja. You will enjoy overnight accommodation in a camp right on the edge of the Nile River, home to an abundance of bird life. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. |
Day 11: Jinja to Nakuru, KenyaToday will be a full day of driving towards Kenya. You cross the border before lunch and stop for supplies en route. You overnight at Nakuru with breakfast, lunch and dinner included. |
Day 12: Lake Nakuru National Park, KenyaToday you travel to the Lake Nakuru National Park, an area famous for its thousands of pink hued Flamingo's that inhabit the Lake's edge. The number of Flamingo varies depending on the level of the Lake, the majority being when the water level is low.
This Park has also been established as a haven for Black and White Rhino, and Buffalo, Giraffe, Waterbuck, various antelope, Leopard and Hippo are regularly seen. You enter the Park in the morning and spend the rest of the day on game drives. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. |
Day 13: Lake Nakuru National Park to Lake Naivasha, KenyaMoving further east, you travel to Lake Naivasha, where you will camp in peaceful and stunning surroundings. Naivasha is the highest of the Rift Valley lakes and is home to an array of bird species, most popular being the African Fish Eagle.
Your afternoon is spent at leisure, where you will have the opportunity (time permitting) of enjoying some of the optional excursions, such as boat rides to the Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, Hell's Gate National Park or Elsamere, the retirement home of Joy Adamson. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. |
Day 14: Lake Naivasha to Nairobi, KenyaAfter breakfast, you leave Lake Naivasha for Nairobi, arriving in the early afternoon. The transport will stop at Boulevard Hotel for those staying on, and then continue to your campsite to conclude your trip. Breakfast is included. |

Gorillas are the closest relative to man, and are 98% genetically identical. they are often just as curious and enjoy looking at you as much as you do at them. Extremely powerful and intelligent, it is hard to believe that they are so close to extinction.
